Rose Etsitty

BLACKHAT — Funeral services for Rose A. Etsitty, 83, will be 10 a.m., April 21, at Rollie Mortuary, Gallup. The Rev. Dennis Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery, Gallup.

Etsitty died April 18, 2011, in Gallup. She was born Dec. 23, 1927, in Rocky Point.

Etsitty completed 6th grade at St. Michael Indian Mission. She was a housekeeper at Manuelito Children’s Home and various places. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, helping others and loved being around her grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Eugene Ross of Tucumcari, Arnold Etsitty of Blackhat; daughters, Carmelita Etsitty of Naschitti, Gloria Sampson of Blackhat, Virgi Etsitty of Gallup, Georgia Manning of Gallup; sister, Marie McCray of Gallup; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Etsitty was preceded in death by her husband, Bahe Etsitty; parents, Claw and Altnabah Parker; brother, James, Jimmy, Robert Parker; sister, Margret C. Parker.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Marian Joe

LUKACHUKAI — Services for Marian Ben Joe, 70, will be 10 a.m., April 21, at St. Isabel Catholic Church, Lukachukai. The Rev. Blaine Grein, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in Lukachukai Community Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited 6 p.m., April 20, at St. Isabel Church.
Joe died April 18, 2011, in Lukachukai. She was born Jan. 29, 1941, in Fort Defiance.
Joe received her AA from Navajo Community College, her BA from University of Arizona and Master’s from University of Kansas. She worked 37 years at Lukachukai Community School and 3 years at Chinle Public School. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family. Joe has received many awards through the government and Navajo Nation.
Survivors include her son, Davin Joe, Kevin Joe, Ervin Joe; daughter, Marlencia Kinlichiinii; brothers, Stanley Ben, Calvin Ben; sisters, Mary Francis Bedonie; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Joe was preceded in death by her husband, Kee Joe; son, Marvin Joe; brother, Lenard Ben; parents, Charlie Chee Ben, Josephine Ben.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Joe’s residence, following services.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Robinson Kelly

CHURCHROCK — Funeral services for Robinson (Robert) Kelly, 57, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, April 21, at First United Methodist Church, Gallup. The Rev. Scott Penrod will officiate. Private disposition will be on family land, Churchrock.

Kelly died April 17, 2011, in Gallup. He was born June 26, 1953, in Beclabito, into the Mexican People Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.
Kelly attended elementary school in Beclabito, Jr. High in Shiprock Boarding School, attended high school in Gateway, Colo., Wingate High School where he received his diploma, UNM-Gallup were he received Social Work credit and Salish Kootenai College in Pablo, Mont. He was vice president of Churchrock Chapter House, a member of Eastern Agency Council Task Force, service coordinator for United Health, program coordinator Dine Council of Elders for peace, Eastern Agency Peacemaker member, Native American Sub-Committee of Behavorial Health, advocate for Prevention and Intervention of Domestic Violence-Protecting women and children, served two consecutive terms as Wingate Elementary School Board president, member of the National School Board Association and was nationally known, award winning, silversmith and metalsmith. Kelly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and cheering on WHS, GHS and PVHS Basketball teams.

Survivors include his wife, Noreen A. Kelly; sons, Craig Robert Kelly, Raynebeaux Donovan Kelly; daughter, Amena Kelly-Begay; brothers, James Kelly Sr., Jimmie Kelly, George Kelly Jr.; sisters, Erma K. John, Rosemary K. Yazzie, Mary Lou Kelly; two grandchildren.

Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, Irene Jack Kelly, George Kelly Sr.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Kelly, Lyle Kelly, Les Robinson Craig, Christopher Craig, Cory Yazzie, Brian Chee.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Gallup Community Center, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Ronald Maloney

TWIN LAKES — Funeral services for Ronald Maloney, 52, will be 10 a.m., April 21, at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church. Mark Thomas and Bobby Boyd will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth Mission.

Maloney died April 16, 2011, in Fort Defiance. He was born Oct. 25, 1958, in Fort Defiance, into the Mexican People Clan for the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.

Maloney attended Chuska Boarding School, Tohatchi High School, Fort Sills Indian School in 1974 and trade school. He did building maintenance in Lawton, Okla., and Southern Pacific for 8 years. He was a well known silversmith.

Survivors include his sons, Ryan Maloney, Rhome Maloney; daughter, Rhonda Maloney; brothers, Lester Maloney of Winslow, Freddie Maloney of Twin Lakes, Paul Maloney of Albuquerque, Leonard Maloney of Twin Lakes, Arnold Maloney of Twin Lakes, Calvin Maloney of Gallup; sisters, Evangeline Maloney of Albuquerque, Ella Maloney of Albuquerque; grandparents, Mae and John Tom Sr., Esther and Jim Maloney.

Maloney was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Emma Maloney.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Maloney, Rhome Maloney, Karl Maloney, Tyler Maloney, Corey Franklin, Aaron Maloney.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Tohlakai Christian Reformed Church, Tohlakai.
